2b. Project Feedback (specific projects)

Please evaluate the following projects according to how useful they may be for the general community and to you in particular. Note: please use the full scale to help us prioritize - we cannot do them all at once!

(i) Projects for the General Public

1. Directory of organizations: A comprehensive directory of local organizations, published on the Internet and possibly in print version. This will be an updated and expanded version of the PLAN directory (the site will open in a new window).

2. Directory of resource people: A listing of "who is doing what in town". It will include individuals offering services and products, individuals who are contact people for specific topics, and those who want to connect around a topic of common interest.

3. Listserv: For sustainability related announcements and questions. Read more about the listserv (will open in a new window).

4. Community benchmarks / indicators: To make trends that impact quality of life and ecological sustainability visible.

5. Green Map for the Eugene-Springfield area: A map indicating points of interest from a green perspective. See the International Green Map website (the site will open in a new window).

6. ReUse central: A website where organizations and individuals can post offers/requests of used and free items.

Comments on the above projects

(ii) Projects for Community Groups

1. Facilitate connections among community groups: Through virtual and physical forums including listserves, meetings of players focusing on similar issues, and more.

2. Volunteer database: An online database where organizations can post volunteer opportunities and volunteers can sign up.

3. Listserve for community organizations: An email list for communication, coordination, partnerships, and sharing of resources among community groups.

4. Resource sharing: Listserv or website for sharing office space, equipment and more.

5. Training for staff and volunteers: Training in facilitation, fundraising, non-violent communication and more.

Comments on the above projects

3. Resource Suggestions

Please suggest resources to be added to our directories:

(a) Organizations to be added to our directory of local community groups. See the PLAN directory for those already included (the site will open in a new window).

(b) Individuals to be added to our directory of local resource people. We will include three categories of people in this directory:

  1. Individuals who offer services, skills, knowledge, or products (paid or unpaid)
  2. Individuals who can be a contact person on a specific topic (should have knowledge of local resources).
  3. Individuals who have an interest in a particular topic and would like to connect with likeminded people.

(c) Examples of good practices: Sustainable design, sustainable food production, community revitalization, creative partnerships, and more
