Introduction to Herbal Medicine
6 Sundays from Feb. 16th through April 6th
Taught by Jaci McKamey of Sunnyside Herbal Design. Learn to grow your own medicinal plants (and identify the medicinal "weeds"), make medicine from them, and use them to promote your health. Permaculture and Community: An Experience in Sustainable Living at Lost Valley Educational Center

A four-week session in the spring includes an exploration of the basics of Permaculture and Community. You will be introduced to the philosophy, principles and ethics of Permaculture and learn how they are implemented on the land here at Lost Valley Educational Center. You will also be introduced to some of the communication tools we use here while being immersed in community living. Our projects with a seasonal focus include beekeeping- installing a new hive, small animal care- raising ducks and chickens, and basket weaving- from coppicing to finished split willow basket. Cost $100 one-time registration/deposit and $500 fee for the four-week program includes organic vegetarian meals, lodging in dormitory, and program participation.
